Here at the 1889 WhiteGate Inn & Cottage, we always advise our guests to walk downtown from our historic bed and breakfast. Parking downtown is usually limited, and our inn is located 2½ blocks north of downtown.
Downtown Asheville has plenty of art studios, shops, and locally owned restaurants that are walkable from our bed and breakfast, but there are other areas of Asheville that we recommend accessing by vehicle. What if you want to explore all that Asheville has to offer and still leave your car behind?
This is where the Gray Line Trolley Tours of Asheville steps in. The two hour guided Asheville trolley tours whisk you through historic Montford, The Grove Park Inn, Downtown Asheville, Biltmore Village, and the River Arts District. And you can hop off at any spot and the next scheduled trolley will pick you up in a half an hour. This is perfect for touring the Grove Park Inn, getting barbeque at the 12 Bones in the River Arts District, or shopping at the Biltmore Estate’s Gate House.
Their tour can pick you up everyday this summer at 10:45 in front of the Renaissance Hotel, a 5 minute walk from our backdoor. This gives you plenty of time to enjoy our three course gourmet breakfast at 9am! You can view their full schedule here.
