Autumn Poems

Autumn

Release one leaf at break of day;

At noon release another leaf;

One from our trees, one far away;

Retard the sun with gentle mist;

Enchant the land with amethyst.

-Robert Frost (from the poem October)

Robert Frost is one of our favorite poets at the 1889 WhiteGate Inn & Cottage, the premiere inn in Asheville. Our Robert Frost Room was originally the master bedroom of the house.

There are few things that can touch the beauty of fall in the mountains of Western North Carolina. The Blue Ridge Mountains boast more than a hundred species of deciduous trees. Winding through the narrow passages of the Blue Ridge Parkway, you will be taken back by the incredible display of colors that only our region can achieve.

The leaves are certainly changing in Asheville and we have only have a few rooms at our Asheville Bed and Breakfast left for this month. Check our online availability and book a room soon. You don’t want to miss these colors!
