Even though it has not felt like winter yet in Asheville, we know that it can not be far behind. Our Asheville Bed and Breakfast has been very busy this December and some of the activity can be attributed to the beautiful warm weather. Guests were able to stroll around downtown in their shirtsleeves into the third week of December due to the warm weather. Outdoor restaurant seating around the Grove Arcade was filled as diners enjoyed having lunch outside in December.
Last December was cold and snowy. We even had a white Christmas with six inches of snow falling on Christmas Day. As beautiful as it was, we still remember all the snow shoveling we did to keep the steps and walkways clear for guests. Guests always seem to enjoy the snow and our Asheville B&B takes on a magical feel as a winter wonderland.
Guests often ask us if winter is a slow season for us, but Asheville is such a year round destination that we stay pretty busy even in the slower season. Winter season WhiteGate Inn rates are a real value and many of our guests love the slower pace of the winter season. The Biltmore Estate reduces their ticket prices by 50% through March to create demand during winter.
Downtown Asheville offers an array of experiences throughout the year and you can find over 200 shops and 65 restaurants within walking distance of our Asheville Inn, the closest Bed and Breakfast to downtown Asheville. One of the best values has always been the Thomas Wolfe Home, only four blocks from our Asheville Bed and Breakfast, where you can tour the home for just a dollar!
Asheville has many destination spas and winter is a great time to to add this romantic option to your stay. We offer in-room spa services to our guests and for expanded treatments we recommend the Grove Park Inn, Sensibilities, and Spa Theology.
Live music is plentiful in downtown Asheville in the winter. Every evening Asheville comes alive and a multitude of places offer live music for every taste, from jazz to bluegrass.
Finally, if you love winter hiking, when the views are the best and crowds and minimal, its a great time to hit the trails. We love helping our guests plan the perfect hike or waterfall adventure.
What ever your reason for visiting Asheville we look forward to helping our guests create that perfect memory, and winter can be a great time to make it happen.
